Thursday, December 18, Team Water Striders have submitted all information
for the Lexus Eco Challenge.  The competition is now over, and we will find out if we won on January 26, 2009.

Saturday, December 6th, the Water Striders will be doing the last water meter readings.

 

Saturday, November 22, the shower heads were delivered.

Team Water Striders ask that all participants in the water conservation project install their water-saving devices as soon as possible.

If you did not receive your water-saving devices or if you have problems with your devices we ask that you please contact us.

We would like to say thank you to all those participating in our project.

Also, be watching the newspapers and local news stations for your Water Strider team!

December 1st through December 6th is Water Awareness Week at Central A&M High School.  We have daily trivia about about water and on Thursday all students that wear blue get a candy bar.

Updates

On Saturday, December 6th we did our final meter reading.  We would once again thank everyone for their participation.

On Friday, December 5th, the team met with Bob Flider and representatives from several other local politicians' offices.  We discussed topics concerning water conservation, and what legislation is in the state concerning water.

The past few weeks have been very busy for team Water Striders. The team has spent time in Gregory Elementary teaching the environmental lesson "A Day in the Life of a Drop."  

On Thursday, November 13, Team Water Striders did a presentation for the Moweaqua Lion's Club. During the presentation the documentary produced by the Southern Nevada Water Authority was shown.

On Friday, November 14, Dr. Jim Angel, a climatologist for the state of Illinois, employed by the University of Illinois, spoke to the Water Striders about climate models and what is predicted for the state of Illinois.

On Sunday, November 16, Team Water Striders did a presentation for the Decatur Audubon Society about their Lexus Eco Challenge Project.
